It is one of the most visited momos point in Dehradun. Angeethi momos offer you a variety in momos and it was the first point in Dehradun to introduce different varieties of momos. Their rates are very economical and momos are just wow. The problem which I face every time is that they don’t have proper seating. Although it’s a 3-floor restaurant, If you get a seat on the ground floor then you should consider yourself lucky but if not then its too claustrophobic and suffocating on the other floors.

Best Indian Restaurants in Dehradun

1.Moti Mahal

One of the oldest restaurants in Dehradun Moti Mahal offers you a diversified menu. It's approx 200 meter away from the Clock Tower towards Rajpur Road. This Restaurant has two sections, the bar area and the restaurant for the sobers, so one can plan to visit this restaurant for dinner. I ordered lung fung soup, Kadai paneer, and mushroom tikka. I found that the paneer was not worthy of the price and moreover the quantity was very less. Paneer was normal with little spices. Soup and mushroom tikka was good.

According to my ratings:
❇️Lung fund Soup-9/10
❇️Kadai paneer-7/10
❇️Naan-8/10

The average price for 2 people- Rs1000 approx.

Black Pearl Restaurant close to Mussoorie diversion is another perfect food destination for food lovers. You can visit there with your family as well as your friends. It features light music as well as DJ according to your preference. Sometimes it also organizes star performances. This place is best for small parties as they have a separate area for the dance floor. I went there for a birthday celebration with my friend and I remember they played the birthday song for my friend. She felt so special. The staff was very cooperative. Even after making a mess in the table and the floor they didn’t charge extra from us. Every dish was so delicious especially the non-veg items be it Kadai chicken or Rara chicken or chicken lollipop. In all, I love visiting this place again and again

The average price for 2 people-Rs1000 approx

3.Udipi

As the name suggests its a South Indian Restaurant but don’t get confused it offers North Indian food as well. When I visited this cafe around 1-2 pm it was a little busy. It was clearly written in the restaurant that it is self-service and we first have to buy the token for our order. As I was having my food I saw staff members entering into another room. Then I looked and saw an ac room in which there were few people and the staff was servicing them and they had to pay the bill after the food is done. So this logic amazed me. If they had a shortage of staff then we could have understood this logic but they were many in the number who were just looking at the customers.

According to my ratings:

4.Barbeque Nation

Another perfect destination for all the foodies. If you planning to visit this place on special occasions then go for it. You can avail of a discount if you are visiting Barbeque Nation for the first time and if you enter there around 12pm they also give you an early bird discount. They ask you at the beginning that is it some special occasion and if so they try to create it more memorable by giving you cake, clicking photos of yours, and even sing birthday songs for you, which sometimes turns into an embarrassing situation. Its basically a buffet system, you have to pay one-time entry fees. For Veg platter it was around Rs600 something and for Non-Veg around Rs 700 and you can have everything from starters to desserts. They offer you a one-time complimentary drink and except that everything can be reordered. If you wish to visit their kitchen you can just contact the Manager and go ahead.

According to my ratings:
❇Ambience-8/10
❇Crispy corns-9/10
❇Grilled Chicken-9/10

5.Tirupati

It is one of the most economical Veg Restaurant at Rajpur road. Its famous for South Indian cuisine especially for their Veg Thali which I remember was somewhere around Rs 300 and it was on almost all the tables. I visited this restaurant for the first time way back in 2008 and now when I recently visited it completely changed. As it has a large number of footfalls so they were serving very fast and within 1 hour they served at least 5 tables. The menu had both South Indian and North Indian food and they are equally good.

According to my ratings:
❇Veg Thali-9/10
❇Masala Dosa-9/10
❇Kadai Paneer-10/10(I loved this)

    2.Cafe de Piccolo

Piccolo is an Italian word meaning small and it is indeed a small Cottage theme based cafe. This cafe has a beautiful location in Rajpur between Mussoorie diversion and the famous Sai Temple. It is a very beautiful cafe and its location adds up to the value of this cafe. It has both indoor and outdoor seating and it is one of the most crowded cafes in the city. Most of the time you have to wait for the seating. This cafe can be visited with friends as well as family. It also features light English songs. It has chairs as well as mattresses for reclining. If interested in spending quality time then you should go to the upper seating. When I visited this cafe I saw people in the age group 50-60 visiting this cafe. You could also find many foreigners visiting this cafe due to a plethora of food options being available. This cafe is famous for coffee and I saw varieties of tea and coffee options on the menu. I went there with my friend and we ordered chicken lasagne, chicken cheese grilled sandwich, and cold coffee and I was mesmerized by the presentation and the friendly staff. I tried lasagne for the first time and I liked it. But the problem was we were only 2 people and the food that we ordered was very heavy. We could hardly finish the lasagne so we left it. I also found the rates very high. The cost for two people is 1000 approx.
But this is a must-visit cafe in Dehradun.

    3.Cafe Village highway

This cafe could be easily reached as its located opposite to Forest Research Institute. It has two-floor seating. While entering, this cafe gives you a feel as if you have entered a real village. Moreover, we were offered water in copper glasses to give us feel and aura of the village and its location is in Dehradun- Punjab highway so its name completely justifies “cafe village highway”. The interior is beautifully decorated and the best thing about this cafe is despite it being a village theme cafe it gives us touch as if we sitting in a village in a foreign land and it is indeed one of the most beautiful cafes in the city. I went there with my friends and we ordered white sauce pasta, hazelnut shake, and one tri-colored flavored drink. The pasta was good, hazelnut shake was exotic but the tri flavored drink was horrible. We could hardly consume that. I also found this cafe expensive so we didn’t order much. The service was pretty good. The cost for two people is 500 approx. We also faced issues in billing as the machine was not working but no worries as there were other online payment options available like Paytm, Google Pay, Bhim UPI, and Phonepe. Visit this cafe and do share your experience with us.

    4.Cafe Nostalgia

Another one of the most beautiful cafes in the city, Dehradun is this Nostalgia Cafe located in kaulagarh road near Rajendra Nagar. It has two-floor seating. I went to the upper floor. It looked as if you have entered outside India. It's beautifully decorated, I found fewer people visiting this cafe as its outer walls are not that attractive. As it is said we cannot judge a book by its cover the same is the case with this cafe. The staff was very friendly. When asked they even clicked our photos. The rates were high. Cost for 4 people 1500 approx.I found the food was not worthy of the price.

    5. Raasta Doon

Raasta a Multicuisine Restaurant is a newly built restaurant in clement town. They have both indoor and outdoor sitting. Their ambiance is very nice and this is the best place to relax in clement town. They have this theme to call the staff through the bell. Its an affordable place and the best place for college students as there are hardly any good food places with lovely ambiance in clement town. Out of all the cafes or restaurants in clement town they offer the best food and its simply worth for money. They also have a separate area for parties and they charge Rs 1000 for decoration and DJ but as we were 9 friends and we ordered much so we asked them can we use the hall so they allowed us to use the party hall for free.
